Suffers apparent knee injury

Aaronson (dead leg) was forced off in the 60th minute of Sunday's win over Brighton but has been cleared of any serious damage, with coach Daniel Farke confirming the issue is a dead leg, according to Leeds United news. "Brenden was a dead leg. Should be alright."

Analysis: Aaronson's early exit had raised immediate concerns over his World Cup participation with the United States given the nature of his fall to the ground holding his left knee, but manager Daniel Farke's reassuring update provides significant relief. The American forward is fighting for a place in coach Mauricio Pochettino's squad, which is set to be announced on May 26, with the USMNT beginning training the following day in Fayetteville, Georgia. A dead leg is a muscular contusion that typically resolves within a few days, suggesting Aaronson should have no issue proving his fitness ahead of the squad announcement. His availability for the World Cup on home soil appears to be in no serious doubt following the update.

Delivers one assist in win

Aaronson assisted once to go with one cross (zero accurate) and one chance created in Saturday's 3-0 victory versus Wolverhampton. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 73rd minute.

Analysis: Aaronson marked his 100th competitive start for the club in Saturday's 3-0 win over Wolverhampton by delivering a perfectly-weighted cross in the first half that Noah Okafor swept home to double the lead. The American midfielder has now recorded four goals and five assists across 32 Premier League appearances this season.
